Description
This disc offers the most important chants for the solemn service (celebrated instead of a Mass) for Good Friday. The most extensive part is the gospel, the Passion of St. John, sung by three deacons in dialogue form in the manner that gave rise to the great Passion compositions of the baroque era.
ReviewBy: Fr. Jerome Weber
This is the second disc in this series from the men?s schola of the Verona cathedral, directed by a leading chant scholar. There is no better version of the Good Friday service on records. The Latin texts are printed.
