Description
The first of two CDs that comprise the set for Matins and Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection of the Lord, this CD is essentially made up of the Matins service. It is a live recording that has two long tracks with all the hymnology of the service sung in Greek. No liner notes or hymn text.
ReviewBy: Benjamin Williams
For those who want a recording of the Greek Orthodox Pascha (Easter) service, this is it. These two CDs present the entire service sung by one of Greece's best know chanters, in service celebrated by Fr. G. Mavroidis. The feeling is one of being right there, as the bells come in on the singing of 'Christos Antesti' and the singing of the festal hymns, especially the Katavasias of the Resurrection, are particulary poignant and well done. The recording and sound quality are very good for a live recording.
